I changed my profile photo this morning. I truly don’t care that much about how I look. I just wanted you to see my “happy and healthy” face on the day of my “graduation” from PT. I haven’t felt this good in over a year! Looking back, I know that my weight was having more of an effect on my joints and general pain level than I was aware of at the time. I also think that my cancer was playing a part in my fatigue, dry skin, and brittle hair long before it was diagnosed. I also had two old injuries that had not completely healed until this round of PT. I’m now seventy pounds lighter, much healthier, stronger, and down from a 24/7 level #4 pain to level #1. I don’t think I can ask for much more than that at my age! In three weeks, I’ll be re-tested for cancer cells, so we’ll pray about that. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy every moment of this and continue to modify my diet. I’ll do my daily exercises and go to the gym three days a week. This was never about looking better…all about feeling better.
I hope this will encourage you to think about what you might do to improve your own health. I promise not to preach, but TODAY is the day to start making changes.
