I admire the movement's attention to details. Wow.

I think you are right that some of us would not be judged to be terribly great mothers by these guidance. But I love how involved and focused they were on childhood development.

Lots and lots that made me uncomfortable like clipping eye lashes and using petroleum jelly on baby's eyes.

I wonder what the standard of care was for a typical baby growing up in that era. I have hope that much of this brought up the level of cognitive development across the board-- a goal they stated. I think well cared for children very mucb contribute to a greater society.

I especially love that you checked your family tree to see how many of our relatives may have used this system.
