I worked in the yard this morning. I did a little weeding, a little seed sowing, and a little mowing.
It was not easy to work in the yard. It was somewhat painful. And it was a bit frustrating to move so slowly and carefully.
The results of my labors were not as precise and complete as they would have been in the past. But they were good enough. And I decided within just a few minutes that “good enough” will be my gardening mantra this year.
As long as my work is good enough to produce a few flowers and attract some butterflies then I will not judge my abilities by what they were in the past.
Flowers will happily grow among the weeds. They do so in fields everywhere. Butterflies like some of the “weeds” as much as they do my carefully cultivated blossoms.
So…I am grateful to still be able to go outside and work for a few minutes each day. And whatever I do will be good enough.
