Football Team Has Name- Caddo Cubs
Tuesday the Lions Club entertained the high school football team at a luncheon in honor and as a reward for winning their first game last Friday. Twenty young men, ruddy and strong, answered the invitation. Mrs. Williams had prepared a specially good lunch and these young men gave evidence that they still could eat heartily.
Felicitous talks were made which encouraged the boys to still greater efforts for their school and town.
The Lions Club was given the privilege of naming the team. The name, “Caddo Cubs”, was unanimously decided upon. So henceforth and hereafter, the high school football team will be known as the “Caddo Cubs”.
Vice-President Meadows presided at this luncheon, the president being present, but inactive.

Caddo Cubs Enter Red River Valley
Coach Dendy announces that next season the Caddo High School football team will be members of the Red River Valley Football Association, composed of those towns in Southern Oklahoma including Durant, Ardmore, Hugo, and Ringling.
He states that there is some very promising material in the team for next year and he thinks the team will give a better account of themselves.
Here’s hoping for their success. Let us encourage the boys to try for the championship. They can win it if given sufficient encouragement.

Cubs 18; Kiowa 12
Caddo Cubs won their seventh victory by defeating Kiowa 18 to 12 in a battle that looked like anybody’s game until the final whistle blew. Caddo was crippled by having Briggs, end, and Henninger, half-back, out in the beginning. (They were injured in the Bonham game.) The scores were made by Sargent, Dale, and Henninger.
Kiowa has a fast passing team.
Everyone is looking forward to the game Thursday with Wetumka. The boys are working hard and do not intend to have their record ruined on the last day of the season.
Come on everybody! Let’s go to Wetumka!

Caddo Defeats Lehigh
The first football game to be played on the home field this season was played here Friday when the Caddo Cubs defeated the Lehigh team by a score of 15 to 0. The day was unusually warm and was not very inducive to good football, but regardless of the fact that 2 of Caddo’s best men were unable to play, both teams played a good game. From the beginning it was evident that the visiting team was out classed, nevertheless they never gave up the fight. The Cubs played well and showed that Coach Shoffner had put them through some strenuous training.
