Workers Really Work
The volunteers who have been working at Camp Maxey are doing good work, making splendid progress. They are working very steadily under supervision of Mr. Hutchens, They put in eight hours a day, and have plenty of fun after they get off work.
The school has bought 3 army surplus buildings, one was taken down last week, three more yet to take down. The first load of this lumber was delivered Tuesday.
These boys are still short on food. If anyone wants to donate some food it would be deeply appreciated and adequately consumed at their camp.
More Boys to Paris
Four more boys went to Paris last week to contribute work on tearing down the buildings that our school has bought: Cecil Corbitt, J. C. Ammons, V. F. Hill, and John Hill.
On Wednesday each week a bus load of boys will go down to work one day.
Glendale Rains and Joe Charles McGrew took the wrecker truck down last week to help tearing down large sections at a time.
Anyone who wishes to contribute food to the boys may yet do so and be public benefactors.
Next group to go will be: Dean Draper, Billy R. Brown, Joe Cummins, Buddy Young, Paul Conner, Robert Howell, Bill Morgan, Cecil Reeves, Jimmy O. Nail, Bobby Hallmark, James Welch, Wayne Turner, Clifton C. Barker, Marion Wingfield, Billy Adkins, Wendell Hale, Donald C. Miller, and Larry Womble.
(Maxey was an infantry training facility from 1942-45. After it closed many buildings were moved or dismantled.)
