We found a house this week and plan to start moving after the 15th. Whew! A relief of course, but also a challenge now to get everything done. You know I’ve “been there, done that”, but each move is a little different and requires some strategic planning. We are entering a period of totally unpredictable weather so that will be something to keep in mind as we proceed. This week we have record-breaking heat…next week…
As I write this Gary is in the garage doing some major purging. We already did some before this move, but now it’s time for even more. We’ve reached the stage where we no longer need a lot of tools and gadgets for making and repairing things. We are content to let someone else do that. I’ve been doing similar purging in the kitchen and closets. It’s amazing how much stuff two people can accumulate when in reality we actually need so little.
I’m looking forward to the challenge of a slightly larger garden. I still have to be aware of my disabilities and restrictions, but I’ve learned a lot this past year about creating a beautiful environment with a limited amount of work. I’m hoping that my lilies will tolerate the move. Perhaps at my new house I will not have moles and I will be able to plant tulips again.
I know there are things about this house and location that I will miss. However, I’m already thinking ahead about the things I will appreciate about our new home. Pressing on…
