I’ve always admired nurses and for one semester of college, decades ago, I thought I might find satisfaction with that path. I am quite comfortable in a hospital. I worked as an EKG technician in a major hospital. I like to take care of people. I’m usually calm. However, my brain refused to respond well to the math and science required. One semester…and I looked for another path.
My stay in the hospital last week was a reminder that a nurse, especially a good one, can be the key factor in recovering from a crisis. Doctor’s make their rounds, diagnose, prescribe. But nurses care, comfort, inform, explain, encourage, and support. I just feel like saying “thank you” to nurses everywhere. God bless you!
