Met with a dear friend for lunch today. We email often and call when something needs to be discussed, but nothing beats a face-to-face meeting. We laughed and talked and laughed some more, discussing everything from gardening to kids to forgiveness. We’ve known each other for a long time. We’ve worked together. We have similar interests and values. Each of us has lost a parent in the past year. I count today as just another blessing God has granted me in my journey of mourning. What better therapy can there be than to talk with someone who has lived through a comparable experience?
I pray that if you are going through something challenging you also have a dear friend who understands.
