Just a little background -- I've been desperately ill for the past 9 months and am finally recovering.

During my illness I practically quit reading the newspapers or watching the news on TV. I already felt so horrible that I didn't want all the negativity in the news to hamper my recovery... I did catch some news online, but I tried to avoid stories about situations that I could do nothing about.

I'm doing much better now and have a more balanced outlook. I'm back to the newspapers and the news. I still do get upset about injustice and criminal behavior, but am able to put things in better perspective and I do not dwell on the negativity -- now if I can just get my husband to be more positive! :-)
