I often think of flowers as God’s gift to us- reminders that in a world of sin and darkness there is someone who loves and cares for us. I know that in the grand design of the world they exist to provide food for all creatures great and small. But I also realized long ago that God could have done all that without also giving us the joy of seeing their vast array of colors and shapes. He could have made flowers all one color or created some other source of food or even made us color blind. There were infinite possibilities, and yet he chose to give us a food source that dazzles our eyes, perfumes our air, and even encourages us to exercise. And we can play with them and create more varieties!
I came home yesterday and found that my parrot tulips had finally bloomed. I have been anxiously waiting to see if they were damaged by our unusually harsh winter. NO…they are just as gorgeous as I had hoped! Also had several yellow tulips that I had forgotten I had planted. Each day in the garden is a joy and a privilege! To God be the glory, great things He hath done.
