I am thankful I’m not you. I’m just now learning how to manage my own phobias, fears, and problems. I can’t imagine tackling yours.
I’m thankful that I’m not so addicted to the entertainment provided by my phone that I can’t stop to speak to a real person standing in front of me.
I’m thankful that I don’t try to solve my problems by running away from them. Taking them to a different location seldom makes them any different, it just postpones the inevitable.
I’m thankful that I no longer feel the need to prove my worth to anyone. Gone are the days when I had to be the “first” or the “best” in order to feel that I was contributing to society.
I’m thankful that I no longer feel the need to be a specific height, weight, color, style, or type in order to be acceptable to others. The appearance of many others perplexes me- I’d rather blend in and be known for my mind than stand out and be known for blue hair and tattoos.
I’m thankful that I have lived long enough to realize the vital role that gratitude plays in our health and happiness.
I’m thankful you are reading this!
