Lions and tigers and elephants…we’re WILD about learning this year and I’m trying my best to get my room decorated. I’ve worked for two and a half days and I still have a dozen things to do before my students walk into the room. I did get my palm tree on the wall and coconuts hanging from the ceiling and a few bulletin boards completed. But I couldn’t hang my curtain because the rod I brought from home was too small. Couldn’t complete one of my bulletin boards because I didn’t have green poster board. Also need more storage crates, a fake fern, a pillow, and a sock monkey….Off to Dollar Tree, Big Lots, and Walmart tomorrow.
In the meantime I did all those little detail things that take hours and hours: put all the letters back in the alphabet pockets, cleaned, moved three hundred books from storage back to their shelves, organized all the table centers, took inventory of supplies, cleaned, put new tags on all the desks and cubbies, re-hung charts and posters, cleaned….more next week.
Also made copies of all the papers that need to be sent home, put into folders, etc. Waiting for my final class list on Monday and then there are at least ten things (x number of students) that have to be labeled.
Have I told you lately how much I enjoy my job? LOL I really do….
