Proverbs 20: 11
Even a child is known by his actions,
By whether his conduct is pure and right.
Each year I am astounded anew by the differences between the students in my class. I look over the list of names I’m given and eagerly await our first meeting as a class. Even though I know many of the students because of our close proximity and daily interactions with the preschool classes, kindergarten often brings out the best, and sometimes the worst, of their character traits. They have a little more independence and a chance to exhibit more individuality. They are also expected to be more responsible for their work and their behavior. Their unique personality, attitude, and self-confidence will establish their learning style and form the foundation of their education.
It’s an exciting process for me to witness. And it is also a daunting challenge to teach and guide them while allowing them to develop their individuality. I covet your prayers as I begin this new journey with a new class.
