I am enjoying my lazy summer so very much! No big plans…just enjoy what each day brings. Today it brought Robert to say “good-bye” on his way to his summer adventure in Wisconsin. I’m looking forward to his report after he stops by Wilton, Iowa. Gary’s ancestors were early settlers of the community and his father and many other family members were raised there. There is even a Maurer Street! We lived there for a short time and enjoyed everything except the harsh winter.
The day also brought sunshine and I have been working in the garden just a bit. Still too wet for some chores. Need to move a few things next week. I love walking around and seeing new blooms each day. Tomatoes are getting closer to ripeness!
I don’t remember if I mentioned that a very sweet lady gave me a String of Hearts plant at the end of May. It is hanging in my dining room and has grown a foot! Today I started four new plants from it so I can share with friends.
Summer is the time for sandwiches and wraps and fries and pasta salads and veggies with dips, so I had to try a new condiment today. Robert once counted twenty-two condiments in our refrigerator. Don’t judge; we’re just that kind of family. Anyway, I feel it is my duty to tell you that Hidden Valley “Oven Roasted Garlic Parmesan Sandwich Spread & Dip” is great! (Yes, that is a long name for a product in a little jar.) Also available in “Spicy Chipotle Pepper” and “Smoked Bacon Ranch”. I don’t plan to give up mayo, and I still love horseradish sauce, but I don’t like to be bored, either.
Today brought me a surprise blessing at Walmart! I saw my Aunt Juanita and Uncle Larry and got to visit with them a bit. Always nice to see family and friends!
Worked on a puzzle, took a nap, took some pictures, worked on my book…
Hope you had a good day!
