I had a rare unplanned day today and I literally had “nothing to do and all day to do it”.
Of course l keep an on-going “to do” list of chores, projects, errands, shopping, etc. Who doesn’t?
But today I was not obligated to anyone or anything, and what I actually accomplished and when I got around to it were totally up to me.
I am old enough and wise enough to be deeply grateful. Others are not often blessed with such a day.
I will not bore you with every little thing I did today, but will definitely share my most important activity.
I took the time to see the beauty of the day.
We often hear that beauty is in the “eye of the beholder”, but I don’t think we give much thought to the idea that in order to see beauty we sometimes have to take time out from our busy schedules to go look for it. Even I am guilty of seeing only the most obvious things around me, especially in the fall and winter when the days are short and the plants are brown.
But if we breathe deeply, and walk slowly….pretty little things will appear all around us.

These pictures are stunning. The textures and shadows on the grasses are remarkable.
Thank you for sharing this peaceful moment.
