Time once again to say a word or two about my favorite flower seed source, Wildseed Farms. I’ve been buying seed from them for about fifteen years and I am always happy when my catalog arrives in the mail. I sat down with it today and picked out some old favorites as well as some new flowers that I plan to try this year. Our region is best suited for fall planting, September through November.
There are three things I particularly like about Wildseed Farms. One is the quality of their seeds. The second is the variety of package sizes: small packet, 1oz., 1/4lb., and 1lb. And third, they sell both seeds for single flower species and custom mixes. You can get a “butterfly/hummingbird blend”, a “Texas/Oklahoma wildflower mix”, a “sunflower collection”, or a “wildlife habitat grass mix”. They also sell herb seeds.
One flower that I definitely want to plant more of this year is poppies. They were so beautiful and so hardy this spring!
Be sure to check out the site! The drought and heat will end one day….

Epitome of happy.
