I can’t help it! I’m excited to see that Walmart is stocking their shelves with school supplies. What could be better than the smell of new crayons or the feel of a new pencil? I still write with a pencil! I only use mechanical ones, but I still prefer a pencil for notes and general writing.
I also know that buying school supplies is a burden for many parents, especially those with several children. So if you are looking for a way to directly contribute to education in your community, now is your chance! Go to Walmart after they get the supply lists posted for each school. Then either buy a complete set of supplies for one child in any grade or buy multiples of one particular product listed- ten boxes of pencils or twenty boxes of crayons or 25 erasers, etc. Give the supplies directly to a child you know, to your local school, or to your favorite teacher. Believe me, they will be used! Even if every child in the classroom brings supplies, someone will need more by December. And there is usually at least one new student who arrives mid-year without supplies.
Don’t forget that elementary classrooms also use lots of tissues, paper towels, and baby wipes.
Go…Shop…Give…

The Moms here are all ticked off that Walmart is stocking school supplies. It seems like we just got out of school! Walmart will probably stock Halloween next week.
Great idea on donating though.
