Rain fell across parts of Oklahoma last night…but not across any part of my yard. So as I watered my wilted plants this morning I found myself muttering “not our turn”. Then I watched the morning news and saw some of the destruction the storm did in Calera and thanked God that it wasn’t our turn for any of that. I guess I’ll wait patiently for the next rain storm.
While I was watering this morning I also got a sweet little surprise. I had put the hose down and was taking a photo of a late daylily, when something buzzed my head. I turned around and snapped this quick photo before my little friend darted off to visit the feeder on our porch.
Also spotted a buckeye on the buddleia. No matter how often I see these butterflies I never tire of them. I think they are every bit as beautiful as the monarchs everyone is so crazy about.
Maybe it wasn’t our turn for rain. But it was still my turn for a daily blessing of beauty!
