The hinge that supports the cover on my pickup bed wasn’t working Saturday and we discovered that one of the bolts securing it had broken. Odd…but easily repaired this morning by the same crew that attached it three years ago.
When I turned the cycle knob on my dryer Saturday it also broke. This is the third one that has broken, so I wasn’t totally surprised. Nothing lasts the way it once did. The dryer works fine, but something in the knob assembly is obviously defective. So…here we go with replacement #3.
We also installed the window air conditioner that cools our west-facing bedroom. Only one problem…the battery in the remote was dead. Of course it requires a special battery that I don’t keep! At least my husband works for Lowe’s, so I passed the task on to him.
I walked out to the laundry room last night to see the raccoons. I’ve walked out there nearly every night for years without any trouble. I haven’t moved anything into a new position. The light was even on! And yet…I hit my little toe against the metal leg of the treadmill and yes, I just imagine it is broken. And it really doesn’t matter if that is the official diagnosis… the toe is painful and swollen and purple and I can’t move it. I can’t even describe how I felt this morning, going through the familiar routine of gingerly putting on my shoe. There was a moment when I was so tempted to feel sorry for myself. And then I remembered the other little things that had happened on Saturday. I took those in stride because “things happen”. Now this has happened. It may not be the best thing that has happened to me, but it certainly isn’t the worst. And it probably won’t be my last accident. Things happen…
As Grandma Della would say, “This too shall pass.”
Just how much grass are you smoking every day, anyway? LOL Just kidding... I'm usually pretty mellow about these kinds of things, but my husband would be complaining for days if even one of those problems had occurred! I'm with you, no point in getting all upset if there is nothing you can do about it.
You might try soaking your foot in Epsom salts to reduce swelling. Can't hurt, might help.

How is your foot? Did you break your toe, or just badly abuse it?
I watch my children's clothing fall apart. While my eldest is hard on everything (and everybody) around him, my daughter is not. Drives me crazy. Even purchasing name brand, expensive items (on super clearance) is no guarantee that seams won't come undone.
Always an adventure.
