My doctor told me to stay off my foot as much as possible, but I decided that advice must be tempered by the advice of my other doctor who says that sitting too much is bad for my back. So I walked around the yard and down to the pond yesterday afternoon.
The pond critters were less than cooperative about being photographed. The turtles are out and about but it is still too cold for them to be languishing on the rocks in a summer stupor. The ducks flew off as soon as they saw me. The fish are staying in the darker depths of the water. So…no photos of my walk to the water.
I did however, find a few new blooms in the yard. I am taking a “wait and see” attitude about the weather until after Easter. My grandfather always told me not to get too eager about planting until after Easter, no matter when it falls on the calendar. I’ve ordered three Chilopsis (desert willow) but chose spring break week for their delivery. I can always keep them protected on the patio until it is safe to plant them.
My fall planting of wildflowers and leftover seeds is starting to reward me with more and more blooms. And one of the peach trees is just now blossoming so perhaps there is hope of a peach or two after all. New daffodils unfold each day. The tulips are not far behind. Spring….what’s not to like?

Here in Henderson, TN, our Bradford pear trees are all blooming -- it's 'way too soon for them and I hope colder weather doesn't swoop in and damage them. Just like you I am soooo ready for Spring!

Your pictures are beautiful. My daffodils are up but not blooming yet. They just had more snow this morning so that is good for them. They will be blooming soon.

I am terribly jealous. There isn't a hint of spring here in Utah. :(
