I’m down to the final editing process on my next Caddo book and should have it ready to be indexed by the end of the week. I was hoping to drop it off tomorrow, but life had other plans. It has been a satisfying journey to spend time with these ancestral families, and I am amazed once again by Caddo’s fascinating history. I’m sure many people who live in this tiny community have no idea how important it once was or how many famous and infamous people claimed Caddo as home.
I certainly had little respect for my adopted hometown when I was a teenager! My parents dragged me back here from my familiar life in California and I returned the minute I had a chance. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I came to appreciate Caddo’s quiet charm, steadfast residents and enchanting history. I suppose it is still a little hard to believe that I have now devoted so much of my life to documenting it. But I have no regrets, and no plans to stop.
I hope that whatever you devote your time to brings you as much joy as my hobby does!
