We are meeting some dear friends for dinner tonight. They are traveling through on their way home from visiting relatives in Arkansas. I have FB to thank for this treat, and I want to remind everyone that none of the features and services of the internet, including social networks, are inherently evil, but only a reflection of those who use them. There is always talk of censoring this and that. I am a strong supporter of keeping much of the internet away from our children simply because they do not have the knowledge and experience to filter out what is good and bad or to make some of the decisions that are necessary for their safety. However, the rest of us should not make quick judgments about what others are doing- they were doing most of it without the internet, so don’t blame the medium. Evil will always find a way. It is up to the rest of us to combat it, not cover it up or pretend it isn’t there.
