I don't care!

I am confessing this morning. I am a busy woman with too many things to do and far too many things to think about. I don’t have time for a lot of the things that other people seem to be concerned about. Please don’t hold these against me. (Most are from today’s MSN homepage.)

I don’t care what the celebrities are wearing to the beach…or to dinner, or to an awards program, or anywhere else. I don’t have their figures, budgets, or lifestyle (thank goodness!).

I don’t care how many men HB has been involved with and no, I don’t want to read the list. Most celebrities are terrible role models for our young people and we give them far too much money and attention for simply doing their jobs.  

I don’t care who wins the Super Bowl. Again, far too much money and attention.

I don’t care what the politicians are saying about 2012. It will all change by next month anyway.  

I don’t care what boot, shoe, color, blouse, skirt, or other item of clothing is “IT” for the fall, winter, spring, or next summer. I’ll wear whatever is suitable and comfortable for me and I don’t care who else likes it.

I don’t care about today’s fad diet. Been there, seen those for forty years. Most don’t work and many are dangerous.

I don’t care which “reality” star is getting married, having an affair, or pregnant.

Don’t care about the latest ______, well you can fill in the blank. Trends and fashions and celebrity sensations come and go with the seasons. The foundations of life- home, family, friends, faith- are with us forever. Those are what I care about.
