Yes, I’m very late posting this today.
I was cleaning. Honestly… stop laughing. I know how.
And I just woke up this morning in a mood to clean! I vacuumed the dining room, mopped the laundry room, dusted baseboards, cleaned the refrigerator, reorganized our movies, shampooed the sofa, and polished the coffee table. I even got out the little brushes and tools for the vacuum and used them. No need to panic. I didn’t alphabetize the movies or clean under the sofa. My children need not call or email. I think it’s a phase that will pass.
Ironic that my mom cleaned like that every week! She moved furniture and turned sofa cushions and washed curtains. I’m just a slacker. I do the basics, but when it comes to serious cleaning I usually wait until spring break or summer vacation. I can always find something else to do with my time and energy. So please do not try to eat off my floor. I don’t want any of my friends to be sick.
I guess one of the reasons I cleaned this morning was because I figured out that I couldn’t go to WalMart until after nine. I really needed a set of prints from the one-hour lab and they don’t open until 10am. Wish they had “summer hours”... hint, hint to anyone who knows anyone who works there. I must say that Monday morning on a hot, windy summer day must be the time to shop because there were very few people in the store. Just the way I like it!
I spent part of the afternoon creating a terrarium for my classroom. I’ve never had much luck with houseplants in my room so I want to try this and see if it survives. I used a huge plastic container that once held Halloween treats. I also transplanted several of my older houseplants. I commented to Gary just yesterday that I have one plant that is three years old and it has grown very little. I moved it to a different location about two months ago and now it has a new sprout! Plants constantly surprise me.
So, nothing exciting today- just a cleaner house. Lol I bought a new filing cabinet today and I’m going to do a major overhaul of my office closet tomorrow. I had planned to do it this afternoon, but I was too tired after my trip to town. I told you…slacker!
Have a great evening!

When you're all done tidying up (and no sweeping it under the carpet like that cute squirrel does in Snow White), you are absolutely welcome to come help me up here.
I'm so going to mop tomorrow. I swear. At some point in the day.
