Woke up sick, sick, sick this morning. I tried to stay up at my usual 4am, but couldn’t do it. Went back to bed until around 6, still couldn’t sit up, and went back to bed until 8. I now think I have passed the worst part and will be okay. Still a bit queasy and weak and have a headache, but hopefully that will not cast too much of a pall on my otherwise great day. I’ve already taken a brief stroll around the yard and the sight of a new daylily and blossoms on the gardenia were enough to cheer me.
Wishing my two sweet granddaughters Happy Birthdays will certainly be the highlight of the day! Where has the time gone? All of my grandchildren are teenagers. They grow up too fast, especially when they are far away.
Mother’s Day will be quiet here. Even Robert will not be visiting because he has been sick all week with strep. But quiet days never bother me. Quiet days are great for reflection and gratitude. I have wonderful children and they have been a blessing to my life.
I went for a little drive yesterday and photographed some of the neighbors. You know my theory about photography on windy days: look for a subject that is big and heavy.
Hope your day is filled with family and friends and laughter.
