So yesterday my students are finishing their autograph books and getting signatures in them. One of my girls totally gets it- “this is so we can read the names and remember our friends”. So sweet!
One of my boys goes around the room getting names and then stands in my usual “attention” spot. “Did I get everybody?” he asks. Silence. Then one of the girls asks, “Did you get Mrs. Maurer’s?”
He walks over to my desk, looks at me very matter-of-factly and says, “I called last kid Mrs. Maurer! Did you not hear me?”
Oh my gosh! You cannot begin to comprehend how much control it took to keep a straight face and sign that boy’s book! Funniest moment of the year.
Have a great weekend!

So cute.

Sounds as though all they did was sign their names -- we always wrote funny things:
Yours 'til Niagara Falls, or When you get married and your husband gets cross, pick up the rolling pin and show him who's boss... Of course your kids are only in kindergarten, so maybe they can't write all that...

I was loaned an actual 1926 autograph book which I scanned and returned. Priceless messages.
BTW, one of my students wrote to me "thakes for bein my bestest teacher". :)
