It’s amazing to see the variety of critters that enjoy our bird feeders and water baths. I have seven feeders, two bird baths, and four other containers of water scattered around the yard now. Water is very, very important in our area. I just saw the March rainfall totals yesterday. Pathetic. Less than an inch in most of our county. We should have gotten at least 2-3 inches. Of course the pond is always available, but like me, some of the animals are a bit lazy and sure enjoy getting a drink here instead.
The pond also adds to the number of visitors. This week a female belted Kingfisher entertained me for quite a while. I couldn’t get a good photo of her because she kept flying back and forth between the trees while loudly chattering at me to leave her alone. And of course she was clear across the pond most of the time—just out of range of my lens. I was able to snap a few shots just for identification.
It was almost hot yesterday, and no, that is not even the merest hint of a complaint! 82 IS my favorite temperature…bring it on! More of the same today and tomorrow and then a hope of rain. I don’t even mind that I have car duty on Monday. I will gladly get wet.
The opossum and two of the raccoons are eating breakfast as I type. One has crawled up the clothesline pole, tipped over the hanging birdfeeder and let the sunflower seeds fall to the ground for everyone to enjoy! I will go out later and tighten the wire that holds the feeder in place. Hopefully they will not be able to tip it over tomorrow, but if they do…oh, well.
I’m planning a rerun day- more walking, more photos, more gardening, with a little cleaning and shopping thrown in to assuage my guilt over having too much fun!
Hope it is sunny and warm and wonderful in your corner of the world!

I sat out by the pool yesterday, dipped my toes in a few times as my feet got hot. It was so nice!! A few birds flew in to get a drink I assume...bet they didn't like the taste! Love the pictures, and I LOVE spring. I just wish it lasted longer! I really could stay outside all day this time of year. Too bad there has to be housework done as well.

Inspiring.
The kids thought the squirrel was silly and Jocelyn wished we had one in our yard.
