I awoke during the middle of the night to the blessed sound of rain. Ten days into April, it was a welcome sound, especially since I spent so much of the weekend working in the yard.
Just a reminder, since I’m thinking of my work outside—I wear a sunscreen, do you? I’m currently using Neutrogena, Ultra sheer, Dry-Touch Sunblock (SPF45). My family is rather prone to skin cancers with our red-hair genes and freckles and light skin. Anyway, do yourself a favor and at least protect your face.
I remember being stupid in high school and going to an end-of-the-year lake party without much prior exposure to the sun. And of course we never even knew what sun “block” meant. We slathered on cocoa butter so we would get a tan! Anyway, I ended up with huge blisters and Dr. Moose actually came to the house to see me and to tell me that I should not go outside for a week. I was a miserable prisoner for a week and felt the effects of the sunburn for a month. It even changed my summer camp experience because I was still so sore I couldn’t participate in some of the activities and the counselors were so concerned about me that they wouldn’t let me swim. So…words of wisdom…don’t be stupid.
Had the usual visitors for the weekend-hope you don’t find them boring. I’m a big fan of reunions and I hope all the little critters from last year come back and bring their friends!
Not much in the brain cells this morning except gratitude! Another blessed day to enjoy!
Hope you enjoy yours as well!
