Forget the groundhog. He might be right this year, but the real harbinger of spring was sitting on a rock Wednesday evening. I was cautiously optimistic. Then he woke up all of his friends and yesterday afternoon when I came home a whole group of them were enjoying the warm sunshine. Yes, the turtles are out of hibernation! (Yes, these photos are fuzzy. Remember they are on the far side of the pond!)
I noticed the heron also sitting on the bank. Then the splashing ducks at the other end of the pond caught my attention. And then, as if on cue, two Canada geese flew in. Yes, I had groceries sitting on the counter. Yes, I should have been inside putting them away. But aren’t you happy that I waited for a few minutes?
Critters waking up.
A bee on the lawn.
A dandelion in the grass.
A wasp on the window.
Daffodils peeking out.
Let the magic begin…

Ooh, cute turtles! Here comes your spring. We'll happily watch it from here.
