Life is full of surprises. One day everything is the same old routine. The next day a thirty-something intern is practicing his stitches by closing up a hole in your index finger. And if I needed a reminder that there are many levels of pain, this was it. The body does not like to be cut, jabbed with needles or wrapped in tight bandages. Anyway, a little kitchen accident has turned into one of those life lessons you don’t just file away. I will be much more careful when washing dishes and make sure the kitchen shears are never again dropped into the sink with everything else.
And don’t forget to get a tetanus shot every few years. If it is allowed, I would recommend getting it when you are NOT injured. That way you don’t add a painful shoulder to an already angry body. Trust me, sore shoulders do not sleep well.
Now that I’m finished with my pity party for the day, the good news- no heat! We actually turned off the heater and probably won’t need it for the rest of the week! Yeah!
And my students went out to play yesterday! I think that was our first recess in the last three weeks of actual school.
I’m going back to the ENT for a checkup after school today. My nose has been great (body parts tend to take turns giving you grief) and we are still benefiting from sleeping with a humidifier. I think it has helped Gary more than me.
Gary bought some tomato seeds yesterday. Even though they are for my dad, it was a great reminder that I need to work in the yard…well, after next Monday when the stitch comes out.
Have to keep this short. It is strange to type without one of my fingers.
Have a great day! And be careful!

Not on a finger. Anywhere but on a finger. That hurts on every single occasion that a primate needs to use our hands. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.
Tomato seeds? Our growing season is far too short (usually) unless you feel like babysitting seedlings with cats and kids. I just order mine from Burpee. My children's
favorite is Sungold. They eat it all summer long.
And can I say that I love your dandelion bloom. Funny how it's a welcome sight now but won't be in a couple months where it switches over to be a menace.
Beautiful pictures!
