Words cannot adequately describe the pain and frustration of the past twelve hours. I’ve always found it difficult to relate pain to someone else anyway: sharp, dull, stabbing, throbbing, burning? And numbers on a scale of one to ten only translate if we both have the same interpretation of the numbers. So let me just say that I spent the night with a headache that made it impossible to do much of anything except endure the night. And I awoke to the added insult of a major nose bleed. So I’m waiting for my joy to return.
I share this information, not as a plea for sympathy, but as a warning, because all of this was brought on by medication I took to alleviate the pain in my back. I have been having sharp pains in my back for several months and they have been affecting my sleep and my gait, so my doctor prescribed prednisone, a powerful anti-inflammatory drug. Apparently it does not agree with my body, and I will be placing a call to my doctor this morning to discuss the situation. Had I paid a little more attention to the drug information I might at least have been prepared for the headache since it seems to be the number one complaint mentioned online. So…a word of warning. Be cautious about what you put in your body, even if it is supposed to be good for you.
Have a great day! I’ll be here recovering…

Wishing you alot of feel better today! Prednisone is some bad stuff My Mom was put on it alot your body will become dependant on it too, Makes you swell and feel jittery too really I dont care much for it I think it had a very negative affect on Mother.

That is exactly what I was on a while back that was making me so crazy. I did have several headaches which I couldn't tell was caused from the meds or my allergies. But more than that, it made me totally jittery and wired inside and I do not like that feeling at all! Hope the dr can get you on something else that works much better with no side effects! Praying for you!

You do have my sympathy. I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to the medication. I hope the doctor can find something to help your back pain without the negative side effects.

Well doggone it! This makes me feel so bad for you. What you are describing with your back and then the side effects of the prednisone is the very same thing that happened to my mom. Not fun... not fun at all. I hope you feel better soon. You need to start the new year healthy, not in pain. {hugs}
