Yes, I’m still here. I just took at little hiatus from writing because I was determined to include some new photos in this post. These sweet creatures were given to me recently and I wanted to share them with you. I make gift giving easy- when you have a specific collection friends and family are eager to help you add to it! What amazes me is that in thirty-five years I have never been given a duplicate of an elephant I already have. I’ve been given a few as pairs, and I also have a few that are part of a series, but are different poses, sizes, and colors. These two are actually salt and pepper shakers!
I went to WalMart this morning to purchase a few treats for my students and colleagues. This is our last week together before the New Year. It’s traditionally a week filled with glitter, gifts, and giggles. One of my favorite weeks of the year!
I am also quite thrilled that my Christmas cactus has begun to bloom, right on time. I know the one in the kitchen won’t bloom until January, but this one in the dining room is definitely on the holiday clock. It has dozens of buds and promises to be even more gorgeous than last year!
I hope you had a great day! I plan to spend the evening with my husband, who will be home for dinner for the first time since Tuesday. Ah, the joys of the retail business!

I met a 20 something nurse at my doctor's office last week that is an elephant collector too. She was wearing a darling band with elephants engraved all around it. I told her about your passion for elephants and she said it made her day to hear of another collector.
Dying for the salt and pepper shakers. Oh! My kids would never stop asking for salt and pepper if those were perched on my table. Adorable.
