As promised, here are photos of my recycled bird feeder and the train ornaments. I even threw in a shot of the ducks and heron (in the tree) on the pond last night. However, I was typing Santa letters for my Caddo blog and couldn't resist sharing my ten favorites. These are from 1931.
All I wish for Christmas is to know that all my relatives are well and to know that everybody and that each boy and girl has a home, clothing, food, and warmth. Yours truly, Geraldine Dowd.
I hope you bring me lots of toys for Christmas. I think we all like you. I think we have been very good. Harry G. Boydstun.
How are you? I’d like for you to bring me a rolling pin and cooking vessels, a doll and buggy and candy. Julia Bell Powell
I want a pony and saddle and a bridle, a pair of skates, some candy and nuts. I made 100 in spelling. Ernest Jackson Slack.
How glad we are that Christmas is nearly here! Please bring me a pig skin football, an air gun, and other toys. I want some oranges and apples and candy in my stocking. I want a goat, firecrackers, skyrockets and a harness and cart for my goat. With love, Bryce Cochran.
Please send me a choo-choo train that will run. My little sister is not big enough for much but a baby doll. But be nice to her too. LeRoy Downing, 2nd.
How glad I am that Christmas is coming. It is 20 more days until that glorious time. Please bring me a football, a pair of gloves, a slicker, and some candy, apples, and oranges. With Love, Robert Clay Freeny.
How glad we are that Christmas is nearly here. I am nine years old. Please bring me a bicycle, a doll that talks and walks, and an electric stove that really cooks for Christmas. Bring my nephew and niece what they want. With loving thoughts, Nina Fay Crossett.
Here I am again. I am still a good little boy. I want you to bring me a little red wagon, a little rattler and candy. I am still your pal, Little Charley Parks.
We’re two Franklin school boys and are extra good. We want you to bring us a coaster wagon, a bicycle, plenty of firecrackers, fruits, nuts, and candy. Oh, yes, and an air gun. Roy Lee and Sonny Boy Park.
Love the trains!
I think we have coal coming to our house. I'm confident actually. Too bad I have no idea where to find any.
