Here we go folks! This is where we get on the roller coaster. The ride ends with Christmas.
September, beginning with this weekend, is the start of “the holidays”. They follow each other with rapid succession and seem to arrive earlier and earlier. I could go out right now and buy my Halloween candy, Thanksgiving table decorations, and Christmas tree ornaments in one shopping trip.
I always feel like September is the real beginning of school. We have settled into routines and begun to get more work done. The children have made friends and formed alliances. Yesterday they were playing so well during center time that I was truly amazed.
September is also my reminder month. Mom’s birthday was the 30th. Always a painful reminder of her absence.
September is my month to finish up gardening chores and get ready for fall planting. Lots of things that can go into the ground in October, including bulbs and wildflower seeds.
This is my “get serious about Christmas shopping” month. I start tossing things into the closet as I find them.
September is the month for television to revive itself from the summer rerun doldrums and show us something new. I can’t wait for Survivor! Old vs. young…what a concept! J
Gary has a birthday this month!
