I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it before, but I try to make sure that the photos I post each day are current. So the photos in today’s post are from last night and this morning.
Gary and I worked in the yard for a little over an hour this morning- mowing, trimming, spraying, and watering. It’s great when he’s home and we work as a team! Makes the work go faster.
Of course there are still at least six things I need to do in the yard that will have to wait until tomorrow. I have a friend who always says, “I’ll worry about that tomorrow- and if tomorrow doesn’t come, I won’t have any worries.” I like her attitude! I need to be more like her and quit trying to do so much each day. Yesterday I was exhausted by the time I went to bed. It’s summer- why am I working so hard?? Lol
I’m rambling because I want to make the point that I have been busy and distracted enough to neglect a few things that I meant to post. First of all I don’t think I ever posted this picture of a little stuffed, felt elephant that I bought at Craighead’s. (And if I did post it and forgot- well, we’ll just do the senility post tomorrow!) I just think it’s so old-fashioned and cute! Belinda knows my weakness and actually had this sitting in the window display. Is she a super salesperson or what?
And Karen sent me these beauties- a mosaic elephant and gourd elephant from her recent trip to San Diego. I don’t think I even told you about Mary! I immediately emailed my friend who is also a self-proclaimed elephant freak, but I think I was on a soapbox about something else here. Anyway- the San Diego Zoo has an elephant named Mary!! How cool is that? They also have a new baby and they are holding a naming contest.
Taylor sent me photos of her photo entries in the local fair. It’s so great to see our love of photography passed on to the next generation. And she has a good eye for subject matter and composition. If she adds her Aunt Katrina’s technical expertise she’ll be better than all of us!
I have been meaning to talk about the bunny and the doves, but I kept putting it off because it just seemed like one of those things no one would believe without photos. One of the bunnies and two doves have been eating together each evening for about a week. Now, I could walk up to the bunny and take her picture any night of the week. I even mowed the lawn one night and was about ten feet from her and she never stopped eating! The doves are another story. I can’t get anywhere near them with a camera! So I finally decided to try a shot through the screen and these really aren’t too bad. A little blurry and I had to lighten them a bit because it was dusk, but still proof that they eat together! So cute!
I’m still working on converting some of our old slides into photos. It is a great trip down memory lane! I’ll warn you that some of them are going to be posted here very soon. They just have to be shared!
So that’s about it for today. I’ve done enough and I’m going to go put my feet up for a little while before we brave the heat and go pick up the car.
Repeat after me…
Today I am well.
Today I am grateful.
Today I am happy.
Today I am loved.
Today is enough.

Today I am well.
Today I am grateful.
Today I am happy.
Today I am loved.
Today is enough.
;)
