Determination: the power or habit of deciding definitely and firmly.
I’m not sure that bees have any thoughts, but as I watched them crawling in and out of partially opened morning glories yesterday, the word determination sprang to my mind. One bee in particular kept crawling into blossoms so tightly closed that I was amazed he could force his fat body into them. But he kept buzzing from one blossom to another, doing his job.
That word and the image of the bee kept popping into my head yesterday as I observed the people around me. And I thought about the word in relation to my friends and family. I have been blessed to know many people, especially women, who have lived their lives with determination. They have been a blessing and an inspiration to me because they have decided on their their values, their lifestyles, and their relationships. They haven’t just drifted along through life and been pawns to the emotions of the moment. And they haven’t changed their values or lifestyles or relationships when pressured by the whims of society.
I like people who are steadfast and loyal and resolute. Even when I disagree with them, I still admire them for being determined to do what they think is right.
So…the next time someone says you are “stubborn”, tell them you are just determined.
Be sure to smile when you say it!

Gorgeous bloom. Glad it and your little bumble caught your eye. Love to read what's going on in your head.
Another word substitute for us cold winter people: it's not cold outside, it's invigorating.
