Up at 4am as usual and I was going to do four things this morning- and of course at a particular time and in a certain order. I’m just a tiny bit OCD. J Got up in a lazy sort of mood and ended up doing only two of them- at different times and in reverse order. And you know what? It’s all good…because it’s summer! One of the joys of summer that always takes a while to sink into my little brain is that no one cares about my lists and scheduling except me! As long as I make it to my one or two doctor appointments, the rest is my life and my time.
Had a cool, windy walk this morning and wasn’t able to photograph much. Only birds hold relatively still in the wind. Oh, and joy of joys, we finally had a hummingbird this week and I was able to catch a shot of him last night. Not a great photo, but proof that I didn’t imagine him. I think this is the latest they have ever appeared at the feeders. I’ve often had hummingbirds during the first week of April!
Spent a couple of hours uploading photos to Find A Grave. I am very happy to help with this service because I know many people are unable to travel to locate the graves of their loved ones. And headstones often have not only birth and death dates, but marriage dates, and sometimes maiden names or the names of children. Valuable information for genealogists.
Drove to the big town of Caddo for a visit with my friend Belinda, owner of Craighead’s Five and Dime. I took her some gardenias. I love her store so much! Brings back happy memories every time I visit. I was also happy to learn that she had sold two more of my books. They are selling at a slow, but steady rate.
Took new photos of the museum since they recently renovated the place and added a gift shop area. I will place the new photos on my Caddo blog and the Caddo website, and a couple of travel sites where we have listings. We get quite a few tourists in the summer!
I painted my little fairy house yesterday and will install it in the garden this evening. Garden fairies don’t like hot afternoons any more than I do!
I’m reading again! Yeah! What a difference cataract surgery and new glasses can make. Started with “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold. Haunting…
Make way for the summer replacement shows. I watched America’s Got Talent last night. If you are fat, funny, talented, daring, or just plain stupid, you too, can have your five minutes of fame on national television. I swear there is a competition or reality show for anyone and everyone!
And…it is officially summer…I made homemade ice cream yesterday. Let the fun begin!
