My mind is still asleep this morning so we will explore bits and pieces of my life as it wakes up.
I am so tired.
I don’t know if it is the end of the year tasks, the longer days and attempts to do more each day, or the heat (it’s 80+), but I have been tired all week. I will be ready for summer break by the time we finish our awards assembly next Friday. Good grief!
I’m trying to make sure that each of my students gets at least one academic award and one character/citizenship award. I’ve had to be very “creative” with some of them, especially in the area of character and citizenship. Let’s just say that some of my students haven’t worked as hard on improving their behavior as others have!! And yes, “best handwriting” award IS a big deal in kindergarten. J
Our predicted four days of rain began a few minutes ago, so I’m not sure when I will actually get an opportunity to post this. Thankfully, Gary was off yesterday and managed to mow most of the lawn. It takes a good two days to mow this much with a push mower. Then there is the trimming to do. The riding mower is still sitting.
I took a photo of my mother’s day gift to myself- a lovely fuchsia. It is hanging in the dining room window. I’ve always loved them.
Also took a quick shot of a gift from Taylor. I love it! I hope it is always true.
One of my tasks yesterday was to photograph the “yard of the month”. Always a treat to get to view the work and passion of others!
I have a blossom- I guess you could call it that- on the plant in my aquarium. This particular tank is giving me fits because the water just won’t clear up. I’m not sure if the location is bad or the fish is the problem. Anyway, the other tank, through far less effort, is clear and wonderful, but this one stays murky green. The fish still thrives and the plants apparently like it, so I guess I’m the only one who isn’t happy with it! But the blossom is kind of cool.
Finished a photo book about my mom and I’m anxious to get the copy and examine it. I know I’m pleased with the results online, but I always like to hold something in my hand. If you haven’t tried the photo books at Shutterfly, I highly recommend them. This is the third one I’ve made. I was also surprised as I did this one, to discover that I have over a hundred photos of Mom. Not bad for two people often separated by over a thousand miles!
Well, off to breakfast and the weather report, then to school. Such an exciting life.
Survivor tonight!! Getting to the end!! J Go Russell…home that is…soon…please!!!!
