I decorated our tree today. I'm not much of a Christmas tree "artist". I just love to take out the ornaments and look at them and think about where each came from. I don't try to create a magical tree. I don't worry about colors or themes or such. I just love to hang the ornaments that I've collected since forever.
I decided to take pictures of each ornament this year. Some are getting pretty old and there is always a chance that I might break one. With a digital camera I don't have to worry about the foolishness of taking photos of tiny little ornaments, so I took 150 photos today. :) I still hang most of them on the tree, but a few have been retired.
I'll share just a few with you. And yes, I buy new ones each year. This year I bought "Survivor", and a little snowman with a garden hose, and a green angel with metal wings. Her little arm broke before I even got her home, so the line is where she got glued.
My favorite ornaments are the ones my children and grandchildren have made over the years. I have given many back to the girls, but I still have Robert's little playdough "R" from over thirty years ago.

I am loving your new ornaments. Where on earth did you find such adorable elephants?
The kids pick out a new ornament each year, but other than that, I've not bought a new one in years. You inspire me . . .
Robert's "R" is super touching.
