I’m speaking of course of the battle against ignorance. J Back to school today after a wonderful break. I feel satisfied that I’ve accomplished quite a bit during my time off and also got some rest. I’ve even read most of the book Robert gave me only two months ago! I can’t even remember the last time it took me this long to read a book! Oh well, the complications of life.
This week is “unscheduled” except for Saturday night. I have a date to hand out tickets for the downtown celebration. It’s the annual children’s party and we’re giving out tickets for free treats at the local stores. We are trying to expand our festivities each year. This year we’ve added new decorations and the free treats. Next year we hope to involve some local choirs!
My tree is up and most of my shopping is finished. Gary and I will make one last trek to town on Saturday. I understand that 50% of the workforce will be at their computers shopping today instead of working! LOL Cyber Monday is amusing. Just another example of how the system manipulates us. I’ve been shopping online for a month!
Had a sweet visitor yesterday. The squirrels seem to leave my other hanging bird feeders alone now that I have “deer” corn in this one. And I read recently that if you have problems with them stealing suet you can put Cayenne pepper on it. Bothers them, but doesn’t affect the birds because birds don’t taste or smell it.
I changed my photo to reflect my winter mood. I was going to get my hair cut during the break, but decided to wait a few months for very selfish reasons. Longer hair keeps my neck warm!
I bought a set of plastic balls for Babe to play with during the long winter weeks. The label said “Midnight Crazies”. That’s her in the winter! Anyway the balls are the size of golf balls, have cutouts and inside there is a noisy bell. I tied three to her scratching post with a long leather shoelace. The other three are rolling around the kitchen. She likes for me to kick them occasionally and will actually meow if she is in the mood to play and no one participates. If one goes under the bookshelf where I keep my cookbooks she will just sit in front of it until I retrieve it. Maybe I’m the real entertainment! J
Have a great day! Don’t forget that the holidays are about the gift of Life. Everything else is just frosting on the cake! And Gran always said "too much frosting will give you a tummy ache".

Great post today! Happy, happy tree.
What, no toys for Buddy?
I've taken a look at Cyber Monday deals and I'm not sure what the hubbub is all about.
