The weather man said it was going to rain yesterday. It sprinkled a little during the morning and then the sun came out in the afternoon. We even went to recess.
I stopped in Durant to get a pizza for dinner and then I decided that since it was nice and sunny I’d just get my usual groceries. (I’m going to stay in Caddo Saturday for HD.) So I headed home with ten bags of groceries in the front seat.
I drove a few miles and noticed the horizon was black. I wish, wish, wish I had been brave enough to pull over in traffic and take a picture. Sorry. There was literally a wall of black clouds over Caddo. When I was about three miles from town the rain started and as I drove into the storm the rain just got more and more intense. By the time I approached our driveway it was a downpour.
Thankfully Gary was watching for me and came out to help. He was surprised to see all the groceries, but between us we managed to take them and my school bag inside in one trip. We were both drenched and had to change. I had to blot the water out of my hair before I could put the food away.
Before I put the last item on the shelf the rain had stopped and the sun was out!!! Fifteen minutes between drenched and sunshine! I heard later on the weather report that the wind gusts were up to 70mph. The storm drove through our area like a tourist on his way to the casino!
Well, at least we got a little water. We needed it.
