I know it’s boring to talk about the weather, but this is our fourth day of rain folks. Rain, rain, and more rain. Rain on the playground= no recess. No recess= cranky, noisy, rowdy children. Thank goodness it’s Friday. Mrs. Maurer needs a break!
Rain has also changed some of my other plans. We haven’t photographed the yard of the month, even though the month is waning. I haven’t worked in the flower beds downtown, even though Heritage Day is only two weeks away. Too wet, wet, wet.
I also have not found a raincoat to my liking. I’ve looked a little, but now I have to get serious before it’s my turn again for morning car duty on a rainy day. Even from my brief bit of shopping I can tell you two things. I definitely do NOT want to spend $200 on a coat to wear to school, and I DO NOT want to look like a crossing guard! Isn’t there something in between? Say, $75 in a color other than bright yellow?? Some of you who love to shop need to help me out here. Give me some websites to peruse.
Continuous rain also affects my old body. My joints ache and the area around my screws hurts as well. Several medical studies have shown that people with joint problems, previously broken bones, and MS are sensitive to changes in humidity and barometric pressure. Others may get headaches from sudden pressure changes. Of course high humidity and the resulting mold in our area plays havoc with allergies. So, a little rain is good. Days of rain, not so much.
At least today is casual Friday. I can wear my jeans and black tennis shoes. Is that even the PC term anymore? Is it sports shoes? Athletic shoes? Oh, well, I’ve never been politically correct in any area, least of all clothing. I just love comfortable shoes. Yesterday I wore real shoes- leather. Ouch! My toes hurt all day.
Well, it’s time to face the day. Rain or not, here it is…another day in my crazy world.
P.S. For those of you who were wondering, Karen said the magic words- “I’m bored.” Every mother knows that is a sure sign of recovery! Lol

I hope the rain and storms stop before Oct. 12 when we fly to Norman for a week. I don't like to fly in rain storm!1
