Last night I sat and stared at the computer screen until I realized I was simply too tired to do anything. I moved to the couch and promptly fell asleep. An hour later I awoke to the sound of rain. I finished the laundry, did the dishes, took a shower, and went to bed. It was nine o’clock. The last two days have been very stressful, for reasons I can’t share, and the result has been exhaustion.
Today is going to be a better day! It’s Friday. I’m rested. We can wear jeans to work. It’s all good.
I plan to work outside tomorrow and also take some pictures. The cleomes are going absolutely crazy and making thousands of seeds. I’ll share! My little cardinal vine is finally blooming. The altheas are blooming. The Bermuda grass is taking over two beds, but I have plans for retaliation.
Gary took photos of the “yard of the month” yesterday. Such a nice couple, and such a great yard! I love recognizing the hard work of other gardeners. And I have to encourage you to do something similar in your community if you can, because it really affects everyone. We have found that since we started the program more people take care of their yards. Many people take better care of their yards. The people who are awarded the title maintain their level of care well into the next year. And more people start new yard projects and make improvements. Also, two other nearby communities are doing the same thing!
Also on the list for the weekend are a couple of home improvement projects. I’m putting a shelf in the office for my “soft elephants” because I need to get them off the top of my computer desk. It has a high shelf on the back that I’m going to use for a new filing system. I need a new filing system!! I won’t bore you with a list of my current writing problems, but I NEED to organize my work before it goes to my file cabinets. Yes, Kat, it is organized and filed on my computer, but I still need my paper- I’m a dinosaur.
I’m also hanging new blinds in the laundry room and our bedroom. Need to caulk the tub/shower if I get time. These are things I try to handle in between HOT weather and WET weather. We have so much of each that it is sometimes hard to plan. J
Well, off to breakfast and the start of a GOOD day. Hope you have the same.
