No, I didn’t post anything yesterday. I was up early and off to town to work at Boland Park. Had the company and help of two good friends and we got the flower beds ready for fall planting.
I love this time of year! It is just cool enough to remind me that changes are right around the corner. Time for fall gardening chores to begin. The first football game is Friday night. Heritage Day is a month away. I need to order some new sweaters and a raincoat. Need to start jotting down Christmas ideas. Yes, I said that.
I was thinking yesterday about how truly happy I’ve been this past year. I’m just enough of a realist to know that the euphoria probably won’t last, so I need to not only enjoy this, but file it in my memory for the future. When things go bad we need those good memories for balance. My friend and I were discussing the attitudes of some people and how many never find that balance. It seems that when things are not going their way they can’t remember that life was ever good. We discussed the fact that the Bible says a lot about grief and bad times, but doesn’t say we can “wallow” in our misfortunes. Once we start that it’s a downhill slide that may not end….
This afternoon I’m going to take some more photos for the Caddo website. I’m trying to update a few things and give us a more positive image. We’re always hoping that Caddo will grow a bit and that new people will bring new ideas and improvements. It’s time for the new generation to take responsibility for their home town and make it a great place for their children and grandchildren to live.
I hope that you are happy and healthy this weekend.

Just so you know, after I read this post over the weekend, I spent some time on your caddo blog. Feeling "homesick" for a more restful, peaceful life. You sure make Caddo look bucolic.
