I awoke this morning to the sounds of thunder, lightning, rain, and hail. Or was that yesterday? Difficult to recall when there is rain nearly every day for a week and more forecast for the weekend. I don’t like to blog about the weather too often, but honestly…I’m tired of this. There is standing water in my yard. The driveway is nearly washed out in several places. The pond is full and the water is lapping at the dock. Everything has been so wet for so long that it is starting to mold. Enough. Please.
Of course my general crankiness is partly due to the fact that when there is rain, or a cloud, or any combination thereof, there is no internet service. I start having withdrawal symptoms! Lol
But tonight we are blessed with clear skies. I just finished feeding the birds and the raccoons and the stray cat that has been hanging around. I’ll spend the next hour reading blogs and visiting on Facebook and emailing some genealogy information to Caddo descendents.
Robert stopped by earlier to pick up a few things and we had a nice visit. I talked on the phone with Katrina. I got a sweet card from Karen. My friend emailed to tell me the great news that she has a teaching job. Life is good.

My temperament is affected by the weather. I repainted my house yellow so that long, dreary winters wouldn't be quite so dreary.
It's a bummer that you lose internet service in the weather.
Glad your weather and your outlook is brightening! Whoever does your mowing is going to have quite a chore, won't he? With all that water, the grass has to be happy and lush.

We had 4" of rain Thursday night through Monday. I guess it is all over the country or I guess CA is sending it your way! Sorry about that. But we do need the rain here. We don't want fires this summer even though the Santa Barbara fire is out of control. CA is so dry and has had a a drought for three years.
