is what I expected when I called and told the co-op that I needed a new security light. Ours has been off for about a week and the pitch-black darkness here on the hill was beginning to bother me. Well, you can forget "soft amber glow". What we got was midnight in Vegas! LOL The light is here at the back of the house near our bedroom and the office. I could sit in the office and read by the glow of the security light! And unlike the other one, this lights up part of the front yard as well as the back. For the first time since we moved here, I can see our cars parked out front without turning on the porch light. It might keep some people awake, but to me it's all good. Fewer critters wandering around at night. And I can check my bedroom floor for scorpions, and snakes, before I put my feet down!
I had to endure a lot of good-natured teasing about the snake yesterday. There was a rubber snake on my chair when I returned from the office. Later, there was one in my desk drawer. One found its way into my mailbox. And when I got in my truck to go home there was one in the wiper blade! I hung two of them by a noose on my door post to show what happens to bad snakes. I returned one to the guilty party who confessed to putting it on my chair. I may keep the other one as a souvenir.
I came home yesterday to find that Gary had mowed the lawn! Yeah! The first time always looks so good. It is amazing how much it has grown in these past two weeks of mostly warm weather. Can't wait to get my planting done.
Survivor is back tonight. Have a great day!

I'll take the deer, squirrels, wild turkeys outside in CA instead of having to look for scorpions and snakes in OK before getting out of bed! I think we have seen one snake outside in the 12 years we have been here. Oh yes, we did have a mountain lion come across our yard about four years ago but of course, we are in the mountains!
