I went out to my car yesterday with the expectation of completing my usual routine- stick in the key, turn on the motor, leave for work. No such luck. Stuck in the key, but no reaction. No power. Once again, my car has a dead battery for no reason that we can pinpoint. My husband is going to try to resuscitate it today.
It occurred to me later that many people are like my car sitting out there. The shell looks the same, but the power is gone. They have lost their enthusiasm, their zest, their power. Perhaps they have lost their connection to God, or their confidence in self, or their physical power. Whatever the cause, they need to be resuscitated as well. Look around today and see if anyone needs your help to regain their power.
My little ones are still sick. I had a couple come back, and a couple of different ones stay home, so I still had eight absent. I feel so sorry for the ones who are sick, but also for the ones who are worried about their friends. Kindergartners are a tight-knit group. They don't like to be separated.
I didn't watch much of the festivities last night. I must have been much more tired than I thought. I sat down on the couch to watch Biggest Loser, saw a little of it, and awoke at 9:30 wondering what had happened!! I did see our First Couple dancing on the news and they looked very happy and graceful.
By the way, I won't be watching Biggest Loser again. They've become mean and demeaning. I don't think that is the way to help people. I was bothered by the cursing on the show- you know me. I was upset by the idea of inflicting pain on people who could have serious health issues and accidents at any moment. I was concerned by the "throwing out the pills" scene because I don't want people to take the initiative to throw out their own medications or ignore their doctors when they lose a few pounds. Also, my son is heavy and he has great blood pressure and cholesterol, to the amazement of his doctor. It's not always about your weight. Both conditions can be genetic. I don't think BL needs to start giving out medical advice! Anyway, they've lost this viewer. I have better things to do.
Hope you have a powerful day!
