One moment is all it takes to remind you that life is precious and we should be grateful each and every day for the time we are given. I was sitting at the stop sign in front of one of our local convenience stores this morning when a pickup backed out of the parking lot and directly into my door! It all happened so quickly that my only reaction was to honk the horn...after he had hit me. Yes, I'm okay. If he had been going any faster I would have been hurt, but by the grace of God I wasn't. The other driver, an elderly man, was very upset. However, a very comical thing happened. I asked for his insurance information, and he was reaching into his glove box for it when he suddenly turned to me and said, "Are you a Springer?" (my mother's maiden name) LOL My face cannot be disguised! Turns out he was a friend of my grandfather and had to tell me a story about the old farm. Don't you just love a small town?
A witness to the accident told me he was glad I was "nice about it". I suppose some people would have shouted and moaned. But it's just a car folks. That's why we have insurance.
