I'm a simple person, so I guess it just doesn't take much to entertain me, but this weekend was wonderful. It was perfectly ordinary...I didn't win the lottery or do anything exciting. It was just one of those weekends with beautiful weather and some beautiful moments.
We had a Mustang show in Caddo and it wasn't exactly a success. Not many people showed up because of a conflict with another, larger show, but it was good to see members of The Southern Oklahoma Mustang Club. We appreciate them driving all the way from Madill. Their cars are beautiful and so is their attitude!
My Aunt Peggy and cousin Billy arrived to visit the cemetery and honor our family members who are buried there. It was great to see them. There are so many relatives who live in other areas, and we don't see often enough. Families sure get scattered over the years!
The new Caddo sign has finally been erected north of town. It has been a long, slow process to get the sign in place. The one south of town has been up for quite some time. However, due to a series of minor, but time-consuming, problems the other one is just now a reality. TRAC owes J.R. a lot of praise and gratitude for "hanging in there" through the completion of this project. I took photos Saturday during the installation and Gary took some today after everything was finished.
Our street lamp/sidewalk project is also becoming a reality. Most of the street lamps are in place and I should have photos on my Caddo blog soon. It is just thrilling to see them. I can't wait for them to light the streets and make Caddo safer and more beautiful at night!
We worked in the garden this weekend and I'm very pleased with our progress so far. It's beginning to feel like home. I'm putting together a "patio pond" in a huge tub. Got the basics done this weekend. Planted a water lily and a pickerel weed in it. Have to wait for the water to stabalize before adding some goldfish.
My St. Joseph's Lily is blooming! A friend gave it to me last year. This is the first time I've grown one and I'm so excited.
Went to the movies today and saw Ironman. I must admit to being pleasantly surprised. Not as "comic book" as I had imagined. Just a bit of good entertainment. Of course I saw it at the REX II in Caddo, which makes it all the better!!
Four and a half days of school left...not that I'm counting!
