I had big plans for today. Another load to the storage shed. Paint the bathroom. Mow the lawn. Finish the new flowerbed. Work on the wildflower bed downtown. Funny how a morning of rain can change all that!
It was misty wet for yesterday’s Family Cookout at school, but we managed to have fun anyway. My class took shelter under the eaves and enjoyed our picnic lunch with parents. They were all smiles as they finished off lunch with an ice cream sandwich.
Speaking of smiles- Gary and I had a good laugh Thursday night watching the calves chase a rabbit. Our landlord has several cows and calves in the pasture in front of the house. One was bottle fed at birth and is quite tame. She loves to come to the fence and let Gary pet her. So he was doing just that when a rabbit suddenly popped up in the grass! A calf nearby jumped and then gave chase. Soon there were five calves chasing the rabbit around. It was so comical! The rabbit finally escaped through a hole in the fence and came into the yard.
Saw a much bigger critter yesterday. A bobcat crossed the road in front of me. Honestly, the next thing is going to be a buffalo!
Since I can’t get to the other things on my list, I’m unpacking. I mean I was unpacking until I got the bright idea to check my email and then started doing this. I saw a report this week about internet addiction. I’m not even close! Can you imagine people spending 4-6 hours a day online! Who supports them? Who does their laundry? Good grief!
Well, back to the boxes. Nine days of school left! Then I will have no excuse for this mess.
